The upside with this, is that cops never know what "specs" the car they will chase have, and suspects don't know if the cop in (for example) FZ5 got restrictions or not
I had some rns in UF1, so now I have XRG, next goal is XRT. wonder how it handles with restrictions though :P
Regarding tire heating/cooling, I think I have a apifany(or how the heck it is spelled:P)
Heating:
Surface heats rather fast by friction
surface temp will transfer to inside slowly(heating)
Incide temp will influence surface temp slowly(cooling it)
Is ambient temp/air temp even in the mix?
If so, wouldn't increasing the cooling factor(speed=cooler) fix most of it?
Just my thoughts about this, unsure how code is written though
If Demo drivers accualy could see how action is done on S1/S2 servers, they might buy a lisence sooner.
My idea:
*Let demo players connect to S1/S2 servers.
*They can NOT join race.
*They can NOT chat.
*If server is full, and S1/S2 user connect, they will be autokicked, or autokick to always keep one spot free on server.
*Server hosts can themselves deside if they want this feature( /demospec=yes/no)
In this way Demo users can see what is avalible in multiplayer: clean racing, n00b free servers, dedicated servers for drifting/cruise(I know, RACE sim, but it accualy sells )
My RAM is good enough for huge rendering projects in vegas aso(HD), I had improvements in about every software(exept lfs) when I doubled my ram :P
What kind of stress test?
I belive my main problem is that my gpu's is half asleep when I play
imo a game should draw every bit of the gpu performance avaliable to get as good gaming performance avaliable...
Unsure if LFS is designed to just use 1/4 of the hardware avaliable, or if I'm the only one?
softth is replacing the d3d9.dll to run it, butunsure if it has anything in play.
I belive I have clocked my cpu enough(45C on idle, 55C on load), and I have also overclocked my gpu's(gained 5fps :P )
But my point in my orignal post:
1. The improvements for more fps works for standard configurations
2. but for open configurations it is not enough imo
3. if it is possible to optimise open config rendering for a fps closer to standard configurations, I would be happy.
And on a sidenote from the following posts:
Other games/graphich engines can run wery well on a not so good cpu, if gpu is good, and imo graphichs SHOULD be loaded on gpu.
But I guess that will be a big load of coding, since I think it must be redone :/
Either way, I'm happy with the progress on lfs atm(never had any trouble to wait for content, just enjoy what we have)
I have 50-60fps on regular layouts, 40-50fps on open config, but with a full grid I have 25-30fps.
I run 24" @ 1920x1080 main monitor and 2 x 17" @ 1024x768(rendering 512x768) on the sides
With only one monitor(24" @ 1920x1080) I have 70-80 fps on normal tracks, and about 50-60 on open layout, so the diference is not huge.
But with alot of cars and objects on open layout, my frames drops to almost half of a empty map.
From what I have noticed, and read around the forum, the rendering is cpu draining in main, and does not give the gpu the main load(correct me if I'm wrong)?
Edit:
Open config on SO is the worst, I have 20-30fps with 5-10 cars on track, very small lyt. 45-55fps on sp open config SO

Reason : Added regarding SO
When I race, the E-brake have saved me from the wall when unexpected understeer(yes, it slows me down, but I won't wreck)
And yes, I drift, but for my drift set's I dont mind locking brakes, but when racing I use ABS and high braking power(yes, I mostly race XRT), ABS gives a worse feal of limits of the car imo though(with hard brakes)
Hopefully I won't get fried for being a drifter in a race sim, but cars get used to diferent things, and car handeling in lfs rocks
On original tracks, I have a bit higher fps than before, but on open config, it is lower.
with open config, cruise layout, and +20 ppl on track, it is L O W !
I have decent spec computer I think, but softth is stealing some frames becouse of the resolution of 3 monitors.
Hopefully it will be further optimized before final patch is released.
